BP-NP Mentoring Scheme is a non-profitable club which started in March 1996 to aid academically poor students in primary and secondary schools. It has since branched out in rendering services to the preschools childcare centre too. Our main sponsor is BP (S) Pte Ltd, which has been providing training on mentoring skills for our mentors. At present, we have about 50 mentors serving 7 different schools around Singapore, namely Children Aid Society, Qi Hua Primary School, Riverside Secondary School, Healthy Start Child Development Centre and 3 branches of Beyond Social Service (BSS).
Our aim is to impart knowledge and share life experiences to the students so that we can work as one and move on together. We also have strong emphasis on guiding, counseling and imparting social graces and self respect to the students who seek or need our services. All these usually will be done through fun and interactive activities but varies from different schools depending on the circumstances.
All in all, BP-NP Mentoring Scheme believes in the enriching journey we will be walking together with the children, such as bringing joy and touching the hearts and lives of someone, even if it was just that little impact. The rewards could be limitless and what we get in return is the intrinsic rewards we feel which is priceless.
